Sam has been teaching yoga for 12+ years from the countryside of the UK, to the foothills of the Sinai desert in Egypt. Turning to yoga to find a better way of managing stress, Sam fell in love with the practice of yoga and after careful soul searching, made the decision to follow her heart and travel to Dahab in Egypt, where she discovered it's magic and abundant energy. This is where her personal yoga journey to inner peace and freedom began.
Through personal practice and experiencing the many benefits yoga has to offer for the mind, body and soul, Sam made the transition to teacher and trained in Sivananda Yoga in 2011 (with ‘Sunra Yoga’ Egypt). Following her training, ‘Sam Yoga’ was born.
Sam’s personal philosophy is to take a mindful approach to life. The present moment is all we have, it’s essential for today's world. Sam believes yoga allows a safe foundation for growth and emergence into the dimension of the here and now, a key element of her teachings. Sam provides the narative in class to help sharpen and focus the mind of the practitioner, inviting 'in the moment' guidance into yoga postures, enabling the quieter mind to surface.
Breath-work is an essential component to navigate modern life. Sam helps practitioners to explore and become familiar with the breath throughout each class. Her gentle supervision for both those who are new to yoga and advanced yogis wanting to deepen their practice, Sam places strong emphasis on the physical safety of all and encourages everyone to work in a way that is steady, comfortable and also challenging. This allows practitioners to easily find their own way towards a place of serenity, harmony and wellbeing.
