Uplifting and flowing hatha yoga practice - suitable for students of all levels.
Classes are loosely based on the Sivananda style of yoga, blending specific pranayama (breath-work) to quiet the mind, with energising and restorative asanas (postures) to nourish and strengthen the body, closing with deep and peaceful relaxation that provides space to help dissolve the illusion of time.
"Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” – The Bhagavad Gita
A regular yoga and meditation practice can help release negative thought patterns, encourage positive thinking and can improve vitality for life. It can help to boost focus on the 'real' rather than the imagined.
The present moment is all we have.
Yoga not only improves the physical body, it also works on an emotional level. Keeping focused on movement and breath throughout a practice helps reduce stress and anxiety that can build-up in everyday life.
Yoga is a great way to increase stamina, endurance and flexibility and compliments other physical activities. After a run or a workout, yoga stretches help relieve and release tight and tired muscles.
Praciticing techniques for mindful relaxation can help to lift moods and promote better sleep. Take regular breaks each day to centre yourself. A few minutes of yoga stretching or focused breathing can feel amazing!
